Setauket, NY … Linda Hans, Vice President of Independent Living Operations at Jefferson’s Ferry Lifecare Retirement Community (Setauket, NY) was recently recognized by Long Island Business News, the region’s business weekly, as among its 2014 “Around 50” honorees, a select group of Long Island business leaders. Karen Brannen, President and CEO of Jefferson’s Ferry, nominated Ms. Hans for “Around 50” in recognition of her career accomplishments and contributions to Jefferson’s Ferry.

“Linda Hans is one of the most talented professionals with whom I have had the pleasure of working,” said Ms. Brannen. “She is a daily inspiration to her colleagues at Jefferson’s Ferry for her work ethic, energy and deep caring for the residents and employees of our community. She’s also a vibrant example of how far hard work, dedication and talent can take a person.”

As the Vice President of Independent Living Operations, Linda oversees the daily operations, compliance and overall standards of Resident Services including security, reception, staffing, programs and services, fitness and transportation. She joined Jefferson’s Ferry in 2007 as its Director of Programs & Services, where she facilitated a diverse activities program to meet the social, cultural, spiritual, physical and intellectual activities of Independent Living Residents, both on and off campus. She was promoted to Director of Resident Services in 2011 and to her current post last year.

Linda’s overall commitment to Jefferson’s Ferry, and continued care retirement communities (CCRCs) as a whole, was another significant factor in her selection for the Around 50 honor. An active member of Leading Age NY, Linda was appointed to its CCRC Cabinet, which advocates on public policy and programming in New York State and Washington, DC for Continued Care Retirement Communities. The Cabinet is part of a statewide panel made up of industry peers, consultants and financial and actuarial representatives.
