Epoch 5 launched the Purolator International Long Island Supply Index, a business forecast based on a survey of Long Island manufacturers. The survey was the brainchild of Purolator International President John Costanzo, who saw value in manufacturing data as an overall indicator of Long Island’s economic health. He turned to Epoch 5 for guidance to help design and launch his concept.

Epoch 5 brought on Stony Brook University to independently design the questionnaire and analyze the findings and created a partnership with the Long Island Association. In addition to a formal presentation of findings, Epoch 5 engaged manufacturing leaders to participate in a panel discussion on manufacturing on Long Island, which was attended by over 100 people.

Panelists included Jon Cooper, President of Spectronics; Doug McCrosson, President & CEO of CPI Aero, Inc.; Michael Eichinger, Vice President and COO of Bay Fastening Systems; Anne Shybunko-Moore, President and Owner of GSE Dynamics, Inc.; and Leonie Huddy, Ph.D., Professor of Political Science at Stony Brook University.

Kevin Law, President & CEO of the Long Island Association, said, “This is a timely and important discussion on where manufacturing is heading and how Long Island employees and companies can adapt to meet today’s challenges and opportunities. Purolator’s Supply Chain Index data will be a valuable resource for the entire region.”

Newsday and Long Island Business News ran extensive coverage, as well as Fios1 News and local business magazine The Corridor Journal of Strategic Alliances.
