Mineola, NYCronin & Cronin Law Firm founder Brad W. Cronin is pleased to announce that leading litigation attorney Raymond J. Furey has joined the firm. Mr. Furey brings over 30 years of experience to Cronin & Cronin’s established and expanding practice. In his new position, Mr. Furey will incorporate his trial skills into the “tax certiorari” field in the metropolitan area, as well as upstate New York. Mr. Furey was recently recertified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, an organization that recognized his achievement of board certification in the field of civil trial advocacy for a continuous period of 20 years.

Having practiced law for over two decades, Mr. Furey has successfully resolved numerous high-profile cases in the New York State courts, as well as the Federal courts of the Eastern and Southern Districts. Before joining Cronin & Cronin Law Firm, PLLC, Mr. Furey was the founder and senior partner of Furey, Kerley, Walsh, Matera & Cinquemani, P.C. and, prior to this, was a partner with Furey & Furey from 1975 to 1988 (which grew during his tenure to be ranked as the second largest law firm on Long Island at that time).

Mr. Furey has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nassau County Bar Association; Chairman and Board Member of the Nassau Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association; and Vice President of the Torts, Insurance and Practice Committee of the American Bar Association. He also served as a member of the 10th Judicial Department Grievance Committee overseeing ethical violations for attorneys practicing in Nassau and Suffolk counties and was designated a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. Mr. Furey has been featured in Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers, consecutively from 2005 to the present. He has also been rated as an AV Preeminent lawyer in New York for 2014 by Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Furey is a member of the Board of Directors of Long Island Home in Amityville, NY. He has been an invited speaker and lecturer at the Hofstra University School of Law and New York Law School regarding trial tactics and strategy and has also participated on panels regarding a host of legal issues. Mr. Furey received his JD from Indiana University School of Law and his BA from Rutgers University.
