Selection Recognizes Outstanding Service, Contributions to Community
Huntington, NY... Katherine Heaviside, President of Epoch 5 Public Relations in Huntington, NY, and a Huntington resident, has been selected to represent the Fifth Senate District as a New York State Senate Woman of Distinction. New York State Senator Carl L. Marcellino made the announcement at the Seventh Annual Women of Distinction Celebration in Albany, where Heaviside was honored, on June 8, 2004.
Also selected by Senator Marcellino as 2004 Women of Distinction were Barbara Ernst Prey, one of the foremost painters in the United States, and the Honorable Lea Ruskin, Nassau County District Court Judge.
The New York State Senate created the Women of Distinction program in 1998 to honor women in the state whose personal excellence, professional achievements, or acts of courage, selflessness, compassion, or perseverance serve as an example for all New Yorkers.
"I am most honored by this recognition, and would like to take this opportunity to thank Senator Marcellino for his leadership and commitment to community," said Heaviside. "Any individual distinction grows out of affiliations with excellent people and organizations. I have been privileged to work with some of the best on Long Island."
