Bethpage, NY – Bethpage Federal Credit Union, New York State’s largest credit union, and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, are pleased to announce the United States Navy Blue Angels will headline the 11th Annual Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach, taking place on Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 24, 2014 and Sunday, May 25, 2014. This will be the military jet team’s sixth appearance at the show.
Military performers confirmed to date include: United States Navy Blue Angels and the United States Army Golden Knights Parachute Team. A complete line-up for 2014 air show will be provided in the coming months.
“After the United States Air Force Thunderbirds were forced to cancel air show performances last year due to government sequester budget cuts, we couldn’t be more thrilled the Blue Angels have committed to perform at this year’s show. We welcome the team back to Long Island with great enthusiasm,” said George Gorman, Deputy Regional Director, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
The Blue Angels’ last visit to the Bethpage Air Show took place in 2012 when over 400,000 spectators chose the air show as their Memorial Day holiday weekend destination.
