According to Daily Dog, the largest search engine on the web has decided to take a stab at Social Media. On Tuesday, Google announced its new online project, Google+ , which integrates the power of social sharing and the web.
For years, Google has been connecting people with web pages, and web pages with web pages. But now, Google + will connect person to person. While most social media networks wrap everyone into the “friend” category, people are always hesitant to share certain information. With Google+, your friend circle is smaller, more personal, and customized. Similar to Facebook, Google + allows users to post photos, statuses and links. Google+ also offers virtual “Hangouts” — which are essentially chat rooms via video interaction.
The Google + Project will initially be open to only certain Google users as a trial. Once field trials are complete, and based on results, the site will be open to the public and the trial users can start inviting their friends.
