This November, Exploring Critical Issues resumes programming with a look at Responsible Citizenship
Uniondale, NY… As Americans head to the polls to vote in the presidential election this November, Exploring Critical Issues aptly considers the responsibility of citizens in the process of sustaining a democratic society. The award-winning cable series, conceived and hosted by Adelphi University President Robert A. Scott, is in its 9th season of presenting discussion on topics of interest to viewers in the tri-state area.
“Our country is dependent upon the active participation of its citizens, including involvement in the political process and exercising the individual right to vote,” explained Dr. Scott. “Questioning, debating and resolving society’s problems is the responsibility of each of us, and certainly the very essence of what we attempt to instill in our students here at Adelphi when we talk about the ‘engaged’ university.”
In a wide-ranging discussion with guest panelists — Dr. Hugh Wilson, Senior Adjunct Faculty, Adelphi University; Dr. Richard Dina, Senior Consultant, Adelphi University’s Center for Nonprofit Leadership; Lori Duggan Gold, Vice President for Communications, Adelphi University; and Rick Hinshaw, Editor, The Long Island Catholic — the program explores the role of family, community, religious and educational institutions in raising a nation of responsible citizens.
Politics, patriotism, military service, religion, and law are all part of this exciting hour that airs over two weeks this November in New York and Connecticut on Cablevision 29 (Long Island) and 137 (CT and NY area outside of Long Island), FiOS 296 (NY and Fairfield, CT), and streaming simultaneously at www.telecaretv.org on airdates and times as follows:
