The highly rated Exploring Critical Issues broadcast series returns with a focus on Public Health — airing in NY and CT on Cablevision 29 and 137 and FiOS 296; streaming at www.telecaretv.org

Uniondale, NYThe televised series, Exploring Critical Issues, hosted and conceived by Adelphi University President Robert A. Scott, returns this December with a discussion by expert panelists on the critical need for a health care system that equitably serves all Americans.  “Public Health” airs over two weeks, beginning Sunday, December 16.

“Americans need a public health care system that promotes quality medical care and a safety net for the most vulnerable in society,” said Dr. Scott.  “Our panel reviews national policies, health insurance, technological advances in medical treatments and the delivery of care, medical costs and the prevention of health-related problems, public spending, and more.”

Joining Dr. Scott for this provocative examination of public health are:  Dr. Melanie Bush, Associate Professor of Anthropology and Sociology at Adelphi University; Dr. Philip Alcabes, Professor, Adelphi University School of Nursing and Director of the Adelphi University Public Health Program; Dr. Patrick Coonan, Dean, Adelphi University School of Nursing and Academic Director, Adelphi University Center for Health Innovation; and Vincent DiGregorio, MD, Senior Partner, Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, Chief of Plastic Surgery at Winthrop University Hospital and member of Adelphi University’s Center for Health Innovation Advisory Board.
