Partner/Director Jeffrey S. Brown Listed in New Jersey Super Lawyers for Fifth Consecutive Year

Jeffrey S. Brown, Partner/Director of the firm and head of its Hackensack, New Jersey office, is a member of the firm’s Health Care, HIPAA Compliance, Insurance Regulatory and Litigation & Arbitration Practice Groups, and specializes in healthcare and hospital law. Mr. Brown represents various hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians’ practices and other health care-related clients. A frequent speaker on health care issues, including fraud and abuse, governance and nonprofit matters, he has lectured at Seton Hall University School of Law (where he serves on the Advisory Board of the Health Law & Policy Program), as well as before the New Jersey Association of Health Care Facilities, Bergen County Medical Society, Bergen County Bar Association, and more. In addition to being a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Mr. Brown co-chairs the Health and Hospital Law Committee of the Bergen County Bar Association.

Kimberly Kempton-Serra, a GW Associate and member of the Business and Health Care Practice Groups, advises clients on a host of health care and general commercial matters. These include business structuring, federal and state law regulatory compliance, tax issues, mergers, sales and acquisitions of various health care entities, technology contracts and employment and equity ownership agreements for practices and health care facilities. Ms. Kempton-Serra has been an Adjunct Professor in the MSJ Program at Seton Hall University School of Law, where she taught Health Law. She has authored several publications relating to corporate health care matters, including co-authoring “Tax Principles Concerning Buy-Outs and Related Post-Withdrawal Compensation Issues,” Third Edition, Representing Physicians Handbook, Chapter 6, American Health Lawyers Association, January 2013. Ms. Kempton-Serra is licensed in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut and is a member of the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
