Uniondale, NY – Exploring Critical Issues, the award-winning televised series hosted and conceived by Adelphi University President Robert A. Scott, returns with a discussion by expert panelists on the various causes of war, as well as worldwide efforts to promote peace, throughout the years. The latest show, so timely with the unrest we are seeing around the globe, entitled “Threats to Peace,” will air for two weeks beginning Saturday, July 5, 2014.
“Since the earliest times, the world has seldom had a long period of unbroken peace,” said Adelphi University President Dr. Scott. “Our latest program will examine past and present attempts at achieving lasting freedom from war, how best to promote social progress, and the importance of practicing tolerance for the economic and social advancement of all. I look forward to sharing this exchange with our viewers.”
Joining Dr. Scott to explore this compelling topic are Dr. Regina Axelrod, Professor/Political Science Department Chair, Adelphi University; Tony Jenkins, Vice President/Academic Affairs, National Peace Academy; and Dr. Devin Thornburg, Professor of Education, Adelphi University.
“Threats to Peace” airs over two weeks in July in New York and Connecticut on Cablevision 29 (Long Island) and 137 (Connecticut and New York area outside of Long Island) and FiOS 296 (New York and Fairfield, CT).
