(Cold Spring Harbor, NY)– Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty (DGSIR), one of the nation’s leading realtors, recently attended the 2012 meeting of the Real Trends 500 in Dallas, Texas. REAL Trends, Inc. is a research, publishing and communication company that provides in-depth information to the residential real estate industry and specializes in mergers and acquisitions. The “500” represents the largest residential real estate firms in the United States and Canada, brought together to examine and discuss the comprehensive Real Trends industry survey.
During the conference, Daniel Gale Sotheby’s was once again counted among a limited number of real estate companies in the USA and Canada to be included in Real Trend’s prestigious Billionaires Club. Representing DGSIR were SVP/Regional Managers Angela Anderson, Carol Tintle, and Deirdre O’Connell and SVP of Marketing and Technology James P. Retz. Jim Retz also participated in a select two-day leadership meeting prior to the conference and was invited to serve on the 15-member Real Trends’ Broker Council, which meets twice yearly to share best practices and the latest industry developments.
According to a recent research report produced by REAL Trends, the Real Trends 500 controlled just under 2 million residential sales transactions in 2011. The transactions represent close to 29 percent of all new and resale transactions completed by brokers during the year, yet the REAL Trends 500 represent less than three-fifths of one percent of all brokerage firms. The 500 mega-brokers closed 1,987,185 home transactions with a value of over $517 billion during 2011.
