Cold Spring Harbor, NY – Patricia J. Petersen and Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty (DGSIR) hosted a private reception and viewing of “La Presqu’ile”, a 19-acre waterfront estate in Sands Point, New York. Select agents, managers and executives from Sotheby’s International Realty offices throughout Long Island, Manhattan, the Hamptons, Westchester and Fairfield counties and New Jersey were provided guided tours by golf cart of the property and its 1,600 feet of shoreline overlooking the Long Island Sound, Manhasset Bay and New York City’s amazing skyline.
The La Presqu’ile property is a part of the significant estate left by the inventor and manufacturer Alexander Lewyt and his wife, Elisabeth. The couple also owned a Manhattan townhouse that is currently listed by Sotheby’s International Realty, and Sotheby’s recently held an auction of the couple’s major art collection.
Among the Sotheby’s executives who attended the event was Hugh Hildesley, who has conducted many of Sotheby’s record-breaking and most prestigious sales. DGSIR President and CEO Patricia J. Petersen introduced Mr. Hildesley, whoaddressed the gathering with a brief talk on the important relationship between art and real estate, and more specifically to a recent collaboration between the auction of the Lewyt art collection and the estate’s real estate properties.
